Welcome to the English Language Development website!
English Language Development (ELD) is taught to students learning English as a second language. English learners receive instruction in English. This instruction is based on the English-language development standards which supplement the English-Language Arts content standards. Instruction in ELD integrates listening and speaking, reading and writing to allow students to move through levels toward fluency in English. The levels of ELD are beginning, intermediate and advanced.
